Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, King Kleski who was born in Dennison, Ohio on August 26, 1962 and passed away on April 26, 1996 at the age of 33. We will remember him forever.

Maw's memories of King, August 30, 2005
Reviewer:   Ivory Dodds (Oldsmar, Florida) -
Maw's memories of my brother, King, were never intended to be published in a book. Jotting things down about him helped her cope. She went through several emotional stages during that time. I think she first started writing to keep King alive. Then, she was able to voice her anger on paper. She found a constructive way to release her frustrations. Ultimately, it helped her let go.
She reflected back on her journal and realized the need for a book of this nature. Many people reject or ignore the facts of AIDS. She thought her personal journal might be helpful to someone else facing a similar battle with AIDS. She shares her thought process during a trying time and offers ways for readers to reach out. It took a lot of courage to have her journal published. King is smiling.
Love you,
Ivory

His legacy
Hello King; trying to keep a promise!

Gini Li (King Lee in Cherokee)

The beginning of my research about our Cherokee heritage; as I keep trying to keep my promise to King about our ancestors..

We were encouraged to forgive and forget the past and go on toward the future.

However, as Chief of The Alapaha River Band of Cherokee Inc., in Jennings, Florida, I say "remember the stories your Grandparents have told you; research your heritage and pass on your history to your children, grandchildren, friends, neighbors". I wish I had listened to my grandmother Winnie Allen Thomas; while she was talking with us about our Cherokee Heritage with more interest.

I remember some of the information she talked about but at the time I was too young to understand how much it would mean to me someday; now I know and I am trying very hard to remember so that I am able to do the research all I remember, so my children and grandchildren will know that keeping the rich truth going and growing, we will be able to keep our heritage alive and in the memories of others, the rich history in our Cherokee Tribe will continue and preserve our history.

Since this is Thanksgiving Eve, I thought this was appropriate writing for Gini Li's legacy.

We Love and Miss You Very Much!

Your Maw

King's Wishes!!

King had always questioned me about our Native American Heritage; I have been working on our family tree at Ancestry.com. King would be happy to know that the research is coming together quite well and soon I will be adding some of the heritage he wanted to learn to this website.

King you are always in our thoughts. We love and miss you very much..

Just Maw

A Promise!!
I made a promise to myself for my son King; to make people more aware of the dangers of HIV/AIDS.

MY PROMISE:
I promise to try and let people know that HIV/AIDS is not just a "gay disease." HIV/AIDS does not discriminate. I want to be a positive influence in helping to educate people while trying to prevent HIV/AIDS. Preventing this virus from spreading can and should be our top priority. This virus does not yet have a cure, as a lot of people are thinking today therefore with the number of babies, children and adults contracting HIV/AIDS everyday, it is crucial that everyone becomes well informed about how we can eradicate this virus worldwide.
